About The Willow

Because much of our wetlands have been destroyed willow is getting harder to find. If you live in Kentucky and know of any large stands of willow that I can cut please let me know. I harvest it properly so it will continue to grow.

I have seen hundreds of acres of wetlands destroyed in Kentucky and southern Indiana. When the wetlands are destroyed we all loose

All the frame pieces on our adult and children's furniture are pre drilled and screwed together with rust proof screws.
Most makers of this type of furniture nail the frames together and as the wood dries, the joints separate, and the frames become weak and rickety.example of our quality construction

We use nails with slight heads that are counter-sunk on the switches . Most rustic furniture makers use nails with large heads, and as the wood dries the nail heads pop up, making it likely that your will snag your clothing or worse on them.

The backs of our adult and children's chairs, love seats, and chaise lounges are made to accept cushions. Most others use rounded and the cushions tend to slide out when you sit on them

The ends on the frame pieces of our furniture are chamfered to protect the bark and give the piece a finished look. Most other makers don't take the time to do this.

We've seen a lot of twig furniture over the years, some cheaper some more expensive, but we have never seen any as well made as ours. Each piece is crafted as though it would be used by our family.

Cutting willow

If you foolishly ignore beauty, you'll soon find yourself without it. Your life will be impoverished.
But if you wisely invest in beauty, it will remain with you all the days of your life."
-Frank Lloyd Wright

If you use the twig furniture outdoors, it is recommended that it be used in an area protected from the weather, and sealed with a good quality clear exterior wood varnish, this may be sprayed or brushed on. No finish is required for indoor use, however, applying either tung or linseed oil every few years will keep the furniture looking its best.

Some pieces may still be green, when you receive them, these will dry to a warm brown color within a few weeks.

The ends of some of the pieces have been coated with paraffin to help reduce checking. Some checking or cracking may occur as the wood dries; this is a natural characteristic of the wood and will not affect the structural integrity of the piece.

Because this rustic furniture is made of natural tree trunks and branches no two pieces are alike. Your furniture may vary slightly from the ones pictured on these pages.

Our Love Seats At The Airport Lounge

Pictured here are two of four love seats that were purchased for the Tobacco Leaf Lounge at the Louisville International Airport in Louisville Kentucky. They were in constant use in the lounge for over 16 year.

That's many years of heavy traffic, They had to replace the cushions a few times but our love seats held up perfectly.
